“Keep Walking Lebanon” has been a living mantra for all the Lebanese who are trying to accomplish themselves in our country.
Art always had the power to inspire and change perceptions and history of countries.
For the first time, Johnnie Walker is giving the chance to university students majoring in arts to express themselves and inspire Lebanon with their creative ideas reflecting the mantra of “Keep Walking Lebanon”.
This year, Johnnie Walker launched a competition where students from different universities were asked to come up with an idea, reflecting their own interpretation of Keep Walking Lebanon.
Working individually, or in a group, their ideas could range from an installation, to projections, to a series of posters. The only restriction students had, was a given space to execute their idea in.
Out of all the applications received, 40 projects were shortlisted, and the students behind them were invited to present their ideas to a panel of esteemed judges from different relevant art fields.
The list of judges:
Architecture: Bernard Khoury
Fashion Design: Azzi & Osta
Graphic Design: Bechara Mouzannar
Film: Wissam Smayra
Interior Design/Product Design: Nada Debs
14 art and design projects from various artistic disciplines (Architecture, Fashion Design, Film, Graphic Design, Interior Designetc.) designed by university students from Alba, NDU, AUB, USEK, LAU, ESMOD, and Lebanese University were chosen.
These 14 projects were mentored by the esteemed judges for a period of 10 weeks and are to be displayed in the Keep Walking Lebanon Expo on February 7th, 8th & 9th, 2019.
